Led by the Team from Indio High School, a Community Dedicated to Academic & Personal Success for All

This institute will facilitate the examination of the goals and expectations for your freshman transition efforts and, over the course of the three-day conference, will help you shape and formalize a plan. Participants will explore the planning process from a team perspective--from recruiting the team and articulating year one, two, and three outcomes to providing the short- and long-term professional development to ensure success.

Participants will explore and develop plans for:

Determining course structure and researching funding options
Generating school, district, and community buy-in
Identifying a lead teacher and ensuring leadership continuity
Providing meaningful connection points for freshmen
A whole-school reform effort that encourages all instructors to use students’ 10-year plans as a common advisory tool

Who should attend:

Anyone starting a comprehensive 9th grade program
Graduates of the Freshman Transition Leadership Institute
Graduates of the Career Choices Lead Teacher Institute
